Good now that we have your attention…
If you follow our blog, you know that we have been sharing Veteran related blog posts all week. We even asked you to share your stories with us, and that you take a minute to write a letter to a soldier. Sadly, we didnt receive a single new letter. And since no one had any stories to share either, Im going to share one…

This is my cousin. He just arrived in Afghanistan yesterday for his first tour with the Army. There are so many simple things that we do everyday that are not so simple for our soldiers serving overseas. We have the luxury of getting in our cars and driving to the grocery store. Most of us, have grocery stores minutes from our homes. If my cousin needs something, there is no PX on base. In order for him to shop, he must be one of a group of soldiers that travels in a minimum of three Army vehicles in a convoy. The vehicles travel 20 or more minutes across the desert, in full gear, ready to defend themselves against any threats just to get the basic items that they need.
That is just a small part of what soldiers have to do just to get the basic items that we take advantage of everyday.
You can help by sending basic items to soldiers. Us postal service has a military flat rate box, its 12.95 to ship, no matter what the weight. If you are not sure where to send your items, I have found this great website. Just click on “Where to Send”.
